WHY, WHERE, WHAT, and HOW of the English Computing Curriculum

Målgrupp: Grundskola och Gymnasieskola

Join Mark Dorling as he shares his experiences of campaigning for curriculum change in England and what he believes were the key drivers for change. Understand the extent of the changes to the curriculum and identify what support has been made available for teachers in England to cope with these changes. Discover how a meaningful Computing curriculum requires your learners to employ problem solving techniques called computational thinking and understand what (aspirational) outstanding Computing teaching looks like, including considerations for assessment and lesson observations. Finally, explore what the Computing curriculum (can) look like with a short ‘Speed Lessons’ session, this is a high octane and whissle stop tour of teaching ‘achievable’ cross-curricular and creative curriculum Computing lessons unpinned by computational thinking, lasting approximately 1-2 minutes per example.
